## Tour (4 steps)

1. Florence in the 1430s. Fifteen leading families, linked by marriage.
2. The Strozzi were the richest. But the families they married into also married each other.
3. The Medici married into families that did not marry each other. Most paths between families ran through them.
4. In 1434 Cosimo de' Medici took control of the city. Being in the middle beat being rich.
