## What happened to Onodo

Civio announced that it would close Onodo at the end of June 2024 and gave users time in May 2024 to download their data. By then the platform had around 50,000 active users and nearly 20,000 published visualisations.

## Moving your work to Netgraf

1. Open the spreadsheet of relationships you downloaded or kept.
2. Make sure the two ends of each relationship are in the first two columns. Columns for the relationship's label, type, a source URL and dates are picked up if present.

### Is Onodo still available?

No. Civio closed Onodo at the end of June 2024, after warning users in May 2024 so they could download their data. The onodo.org address now redirects to Civio's closure announcement.

### What is the best free replacement for Onodo?

For mapping people and ties with sources, Netgraf is free and needs no account. For large-scale analysis, Gephi and Gephi Lite are free and open source. Graph Commons has a free public tier up to 100 nodes per graph.
